Why They Want To Keep Millennials and Gen Z

In Survival Mode

Fellow Millennial or Gen Zier,

Did you know together our generations make up 43% of the U.S. Population?

Impressive, isn't it.

But unfortunately, many in our generations struggle with bad habits that make us feel worthless.

Habits that make it difficult for YOU to LOCK IN on your dreams.

Which means you can live your entire life in survival mode!

Even though.

You did everything they told you to do.

√ College Degree.

√ Internships.

√ Law-Abiding Citizen.

Why?

Because you were told that if you worked hard and played by the rules, you would win.

Now, you're struggling!

And that makes you feel worthless.

It's not your fault, there were alot of factors that helped you feel worthless.

  • Layoffs
  • Stagnant wages
  • Rising rent and ridiculous food costs
  • A housing crash
  • Pandemic
  • And now, AI is wiping out jobs

Here's the painful truth:

People who want to exploit you, want you to fell that way.

Why?

Because they know if you feel unworthy; you will most likely be undisciplined.

This means:

  • You won't invest in yourself.
  • You'll complain about your circumstances and do nothing about it.
  • You feel powerless.
  • Which makes you easy to control.

Look, you can get mad.

But nothing will change if you don't WORK on you.

Luckily for you, I have a solution!

Let me introduce you to WORTHY TO BE GREAT, a book that lays out practical principles and tools to help you:

• Deal with past traumas that make you feel unworthy

• Quiet the inner critic that is suppressing your confidence

• Rewrite your brain with new habits

• Stop ghosting people by becoming an effective communicator

WORTHLESS CHILDHOOD

When I was in elementary school.

My sister and I went into the house and our mama was crying.

She said, "Jr., go into the room and ask your daddy if he is going to leave?"

As I walked towards my parents room.

I could smell the oil and gas from my daddy's work uniform.

I could also smell a burning cigarette.

I approached my daddy, "Daddy, Mama said you are going to leave."

He looked me in the eyes and said, " Son, I'm not going to leave, I will put us in a better home outside of this hood."

Well, he lied.

Because two weeks later, he was gone.

And I told myself he left because I wasn't good enough.

I struggled to find purpose.

In high school, my counselor said I would find purpose if I went to college and got a good job.

I followed her advice.

√ College graduate.

√ Job.

√ Still felt worthless.

To make things worse, I got laid off.

THE STRUGGLE WAS REAL

I still had to pay bills, so I worked 22 temp jobs.

They included:

*Trash Man.

*Food Sample Giver

*Warehouse Worker

Jobs I could have done without my overpriced degree.

After sending out over 300 applications, I finally got a better job.

And three years in a cubicle.

Left me burned out.

But then I discovered something that helped me take control of my life.

20-MILLION DOLLAR MAN'S SUCCESS HABIT

One day, Mr. Douglass, our CEO, flew in from his home state.

He was a slim, silver-haired, 75-year-old with a Italian Accent.

And he wore a dark blue suit and smelled like costly cologne.

The company rented a fancy gold-decorated ballroom with red stairs leading to a red oval stage.

The CEO stood on stage and spoke to us, 400 employees, about compliance.

As I listened.

I wondered, "How did he end up earning 20 million a year?"

Near the end of his talk, he said, "When I'm done, enjoy the buffet we've prepared for you in the dining area."

After he said that, I got an idea.

I decided that I would go ask the CEO a question while my co-workers went to the buffet.

He stopped speaking.

And they rushed to the buffet, like a herd.

I approached the CEO and said, "Mr. Douglass, I'm Gene. May I ask a quick question?"

"Yes, Gene."

"What helped you become successful?"

"Reading."

"Really!"

"I've consistently read at least 12 books a year for 30 years."

I left that conversation impressed by his consistency.

I also felt humiliated for not reading a book in years.

Why?

Because my comfort in survival mode caused me to become undisciplined.

AND that was about to change.

Stop Listening To The H.E.R.D.S.

The Herd Mentality is when people follow the actions, behaviors, or beliefs of a group without thinking for themselves.

(Like my buffet driven co-workers)

I call people with this mentality the H.E.R.D.S. (Help Everyone Relinquish their Dreams)

They are people who tell you to:

*Follow traditions.

*Play it safe.

*And settle for mediocrity.

For example, Ms. Rainy, a bitter 63-year-old with 25 years in the corporate world, was a H.E.R.D.

Let me tell you why.

Mr. Douglass inspired me.

So, I developed my own reading habit.

To stay disciplined, I made a simple plan.

That plan helped me stay consistent, and I began to believe I was worthy of my dreams.

BUT it could have ended if I had listened to Ms. Rainy.

One day, I was sitting in my cubicle, reading.

Ms. Rainy asked, "Gene, why are you reading so much?"

"I'm going to be the CEO of my own company, so I'm educating myself."

"My sister owned a business, and the stress killed her. It would be better if you retired from here."

“Thanks for the advice, Ms. Rainy, I'm still committed to my vision.”

My vacation started at the end of that workday.

When I returned to work.

Ms. Rainy's name tag wasn't on her cubicle.

I found out.

After 25 years, she was laid off.

I felt bad for Ms. Rainy.

But I was glad I didn't let her help me relinquish my dream.

Instead I became the:

Jason

Pilot

I'm Jason. I read Gene Mosley's book, Worthy to Be Great, where he teaches self-discipline as a way of achieving greatness. This book has helped me realize how much I have been limiting myself from being great. Through the many activities and assessments, I've developed skills to aid in self-discipline that will affect positive change in my life. My favorite section is Section 4 on enhancing relationship skills. Here, Gene describes how one must start with oneself before expecting to establish a positive relationship with others. This is what I needed to hear.

I've always struggled with my relationship with others, but more importantly, with myself. I recommend Worthy to Be Great to anyone with bad habits that inhibit reaching one's full potential.

Carlos

What's up? This is Carlos, and this is my testimony on video for Gene Mosley's "Worthy to Be Great" book. I've chosen Chapter 17 as my topic to discuss, "Primary Motivators," because this chapter has helped me understand and keep me disciplined in my goals and dreams. It gives me an endless amount of motivation because I know my primary motivator is monitoring me every day, and I have to make that difference for them. So I advise you guys, if you are struggling for motivation, to pick up your own copy of G. Mosley's "Worthy to Be Great" book. This is a must-read. And, as always, let's make this a wonderful day.

Loved the book.

Gene is the real deal. He lives his messages and shows up day after day to help remind us and show us we are worthy to be great. If you need inspiration, some clarity, some motivation, Gene’s got it!! Loved the book.

Gene is a great story teller, and the stories used in this book really help you remember the purpose of each chapter. One of the main things I love about this book are the chapters are short and digestible, so you can gain a positive message in less than 5 minutes to meditate on throughout the day. Great book for anyone looking to achieve emotional discipline!
